On China’s streets you get used to seeing the most eye-catching things, from people in pyjamas, to chickens about to be slaughtered and two-wheeled vehicles carrying overwhelming loads. It’s one of the best things about life there.

But, every now and again Britain can throw up surprises. This penny farthing was spotted outside Peter Jones in Sloane Square today.
